Quilting Basics Series

Learn to quilt by making a wall sampler which teaches a variety of quilting techniques such as straight piecing, curved piecing, angled piecing and appliqué. We will learn about fabric selection and preparation, threads, marking pencils, tracing patterns, sewing a quarter-inch seam, and finishing your quilt top using sashes and cornerstones. A basic knowledge of sewing is helpful for this class but not necessary.

Learn how to make your own quilt designs in EQ5.  This class will teach you how to navigate the many layers of the software and Scrapbook.  You will also learn how to make fabric swatches, import them to build your own custom color palettes and color your quilts.  We will build a sample digital quilt, which will familiarize you with choosing a quilt layout, drawing and editing blocks and manipulating them in the appropriate layer.  In order to participate in this class a basic understanding of computers and Windows is required.  In order to provide novice computer users with the required skills we will be offering "An Introduction to Computers for Quilters" one month prior to this class.
